SERVICE EXCELLENCE | The Leadership System Behind the Experience Workbook | 10-Participant Team License
Find the Friction. Build the Blueprint.
See where service breaks. Strengthen the conditions. Let capable people serve with confidence.
CG Excellence Training™ SERVICE EXCELLENCE | The Leadership System Behind the Experience Interactive Workbook is a 28-page interactive leadership resource developed for CEOs, business owners, HR directors, managers, operations executives and learning professionals.
Created as the companion to Leadership Article No. 009, Service Excellence: The Leadership System Behind the Experience, the workbook guides participants in examining the leadership conditions behind the customer experience.
A customer repeats the same story to a third employee. A capable representative waits on an approval. A screen holds half the history. Participants review ten recent customer issues to learn where the first slowdown appears and which of eight conditions leaders can strengthen.
Guided assessments, automated calculations, a completed customer-service example and focused action plans connect observation with practical application.
The workbook follows five stages:
Diagnose · Design · Measure · Decide · Reflect
Each stage provides a defined purpose, completion guidance and a clear next step.

Business Applications
Use the workbook to:
Examine ten recent customer issues instead of the most memorable complaint.
Trace where information, authority, process, technology or staffing slows resolution.
Separate a capability gap from an architecture gap.
Rate the eight conditions supporting service with evidence behind every rating.
Audit which decisions could be resolved closer to the customer.
Map handoffs between teams, channels and functions.
Capture frontline observations and route them to the owners of process and technology.
Establish baselines, owners, review dates and cost per resolved need.
Design a bounded test before broader rollout.
Build a 30-, 60- and 90-day improvement plan with accountable owners.
Scores and bands support leadership discussion alongside evidence and professional judgment. Ratings are working decision aids, and a lower or higher number is not automatically better. Observed improvements require review of comparable periods, operating conditions and other contributing factors.
Designed for Team Implementation
The interactive format guides every participant through a consistent review process, and results from each person come together in one team conversation.
Team Use: How Up to 10 Participants Work Together
Name the roles. An accountable leader sponsors the review, and a facilitator runs each session. Other participants represent the frontline, management, technology or process ownership, HR and finance.
Divide the work. Each participant completes a working copy, either tracing different cases from the register or reviewing all ten and rating independently.
Pool the results. The team meets once as a group. The facilitator enters agreed ratings, case counts and a priority on pages 12 and 13, and the Executive Summary on page 27 carries them forward.
Apply the workbook during:
Executive working sessions.
Manager-led performance development.
Customer-service improvement discussions.
Cross-functional planning.
Process and workflow reviews.
Technology and operations reviews.
Learning-and-development evaluations.
Team capability discussions.
For a focused first application, select one service journey, assign ten recent issues across the team and meet once to pool the results.
